The Department of Mathematics at Elmhurst University invites applications for a Visiting Lecturer in Mathematics beginning August 2024. Main teaching responsibilities will include the teaching of the calculus sequence and the typical service courses in statistics and mathematics.

The Elmhurst University Department of Mathematics places a high value on teaching excellence, collegiality, collaboration, and innovation. A Master's degree in Mathematics or Statistics is required along with demonstrated potential for excellence in undergraduate teaching in a comprehensive liberal arts setting. Applicants with prior experience teaching at either the community college or undergraduate level are strongly encouraged to apply.

The teaching load is eight courses over the 2024-25 academic year. Applicants should have a commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment for a diverse student body.

Responsibilities for this position include course preparation, teaching, grading, and being available to students who have questions or require assistance, and service to the department and University. Employee is subject to indoor work, protected from weather conditions. Work is sedentary in nature and involves exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently/constantly in order to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move object.
