Summary:
CHRISTUS Specialty Pharmacy is hiring a full-time clinical pharmacist with a focus on rheumatology. The pharmacist will be responsible for the clinical management of patients with rheumatological conditions and will be working on-site in the Beaumont rheumatology clinic. The pharmacist will be responsible for initial and follow-up patient assessments and consultations and for proper documentation in accordance with the pharmacy's policies and procedures and URAC and ACHC standards. The pharmacist will be responsible for ensuring safe and appropriate therapy and communicating recommended changes with medical staff. The pharmacist will be responsible for overseeing the prior authorization and appeals processes and offering clinical assistance to technician staff completing the authorizations as needed.Consults with nursing and medical staff regarding prescriptions, orders, drug and pharmaceutical detail, patient reactions, errors, and complaints. Provides prescribed medications, drugs, and other pharmaceuticals. Conducts Drug Utilization Reviews and prepares Drug Review Criteria for medical staff review and approval. Monitors drug therapy as assigned by medical staff. Suggests alternate drug therapy as appropriate.
