Overview

The ideal candidate will have 5 or more years' progressive experience as a product/filing analyst handling core commercial lines business. Candidate will have expertise with ISO, NCCI, SERFF, AAIS and with various compliance tools. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and be accustomed to meeting state driven deadlines in responding to filing objections.

The responsibilities of the Compliance Specialist are to effectively develop, coordinate, and communicate commercial insurance product filings; perform regulatory research; and provide additional support and other regulatory functions as directed. Maintains a solid understanding of AmTrust's mission, vision, and values. Upholds the standards of the AmTrust organization.

Responsibilities
    Draft and format rate, rule and form pages as needed, with direction from Product Management
  • Work effectively with AmTrust Filing Department, filing vendors, Product Management, Underwriting and Actuarial in all aspects concerning development of filing material, filing support and drafting of objection responses
  • Monitor filing process and provide timely updates to internal and external stakeholders
  • Perform regulatory and compliance research and effectively communicate findings
  • Initiate system implementation/work requests of approved products
  • Participate in Company project initiatives as directed
  • Keeps current with market trends and demands
  • Performs other functionally related duties as assigned
Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Minimum of 3 years commercial property/casualty insurance work experience
  • Working knowledge of regulatory compliance issues, state insurance law and product filing requirements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) products
  • Strong organizational skills and detail oriented
  • Ability to interact with people at all levels of the corporate structure
  • Quick learner with a strong desire to take on additional responsibilities and stretch outside his/her comfort zone
  • Self-motivated team player with the proven ability to work independently and prioritize and handle numerous competing demands in a high-volume, fast-paced working environment, frequently under urgent deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information sensitively and discreetly


Preferred:

  • Experience in multiple commercial insurance lines as either a regulatory/compliance professional, underwriter or product/business/operations analyst
